Zanima jo sodobna literatura v francosko govorečem črnskem svetu (Sub - Saharska Afrika in Karibski otoki), teorije globalizacije, radikalna pedagogika in javna izobrazba v pravem pomenu besede. Nadaljuje delo v akcijah skupine Strike debt v boju proti dolgu v ZDA.

A CONVERSATION WITH TWO AMERICAN ACTIVISTS

What does living in an economic system mean for the quality of life? How can we forge meaningful connections capable of linking separate efforts? What does being a part of the global politics mean for the local community ? What is the role of the arts, state institutions, pedagogy, political activism and cooperatives?

These are some of the guidelines for the conversation on this special occasion, when we are privileged to host Aleksandra Perišić and Jacques Laroche.

Jacques Laroche is a computer scientist who explores the intersection of science, politics and society. Whether during the movement of Occupations in 2011, working to purchase and abolish debt with Strike Debt, or organizing in the BlackLivesMatter movement Jacques has been on the ground gaining perspective through praxis.

Jacques has been interviewed about these topics, has discussed them in various forums around the United States and has written about them on his blog, Current Perspectives. His most recent work is titled Solidarity and Power and calls for building strength via strategic alliances.

Alexandra Perisic is an Assistant Professor in the department of Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. Her interests include contemporary literature in the French-speaking Black world (Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean), theories of globalization, radical pedagogy, and truly ‘public’ education. She continues to work with Strike Debt’s campaigns to fight the system of debt.
