Mateja Gorjup, pevka in poustvarjalka slovanskega ljudskega glasbenega izročila, s svojim polnim glasom in raziskovanjem kulturne dediščine v ljudsko pesem vnaša živost, ženstvenost in prvinskost.
Klic ljudske pesmi je zaslišala že pri treh, štirih letih, ko je s staro mamo redno poslušala oddajo Slovenska zemlja v pesmi in besedi na Radiu Slovenija. To je zanetilo prvo iskro, ki se je razplamtela konec srednješolskih dni, zato se je odločila za študij etnologije in kulturne antropologije.
Kot raziskovalka glasu se že vrsto let ukvarja z zbiranjem in poustvarjanjem ljudskega glasbenega izročila različnih narodov. Matejin nabor ljudskih pesmih se v etno zasedbi Horda grdih razteza od Slovenije prek Balkana vse do Afganistana, sama pa se intenzivneje posveča slovanski tradiciji, a je osredotočena na Slovenijo in Balkan s kančkom češke, slovaške in ukrajinske tradicije. Nastopa na različnih prizoriščih - od Cankarjevega doma do odra pod milim nebom. Pela je v funk rock skupini Tuned Fish, v zasedbi Tantadruj, ki igra akustično glasbo, s Samom Kutinom sodeluje pri glasbenem potovanju za otroke: Lunin med.
Leta 2015 je izšel njen samostojni glasbeni prvenec Ijekaru.

Mateja Gorjup, singer and performers of Slavic musical tradition, with her full voice and exploring the cultural heritage in folk song brings vivacity, femininity and elementalness.
Call of the folk songs heard already before three, four years, when her grandmother regularly listened to the submission of Slovenian land in song and word on Radio Slovenia. This sparked the first spark that has flared at the end of secondary school days, so she decided to study ethnology and cultural anthropology.
As a researcher of the voice she has been for many years involved in the collection and interpretation of folk musical traditions of different nations. Matejas set of folk songs in folk music ensemble horde of ugly stretches from Slovenia, through the Balkans all the way to Afghanistan, while it is intensely dedicated to the Slavic tradition, but is focused on Slovenia and the Balkans with a hint of Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian traditions. She performs at various venues - from the Cankarjev dom to the stage under the open sky. She sang in a funk rock band tuned Fish in Tantadruj band that plays acoustic music with Sam Kutinom participate in the musical journey for children: Moon between.
In 2015, she released her solo debut: Ijekaru.
